    <dcterms:description><![CDATA[<p><i>Isca Danmoniorum </i>is the earliest known printed map of Exeter. It was commissioned by John Hooker, the first Chamblerlain of Exeter, from the Flemish engraver Remigius Hogenberg, and formed the basis of all printed maps of Exeter for more than a century. Copies of the map survive in three versions or states. This is a facsimile reprint of State C, acquired for Exeter City Council by James G. Commins, and which today hangs in the Exeter Guildhall.</p>]]></dcterms:description>
